A note to my son...

Benjamin,

It is 3 in the morning and I have just finished feeding you and put you back down to sleep.

Just like the evenings past I had such a fun time with you that I wanted to write to you the things that I am feeling now before the sleep I am about to get steals them away from me.

You are such a blessing and gift to myself and your mother. You are such a smart, good boy. Sometimes when I feed you, after I burp you (or you burp yourself guy), I will put you on my knee so you can hold your head up. I enjoy watching you do this so much. Your eyes get wide and your arms are at your side for balance. Sometimes your lower lip quivers a little as you concentrate to keep your head up and look around your room. I am so proud of how you always try your hardest. You also make such sweet sounds with your newly found voice. I wish I was able to interpret what you are trying to express, but I know it was something good by how big your smile was.

It is an honor to be your father. I hold you in my arms and it seems like you are growing as I look at you.

I look forward to my life with you and your fantastic mother. Perhaps someday you and I can read this entry together. Not for you as much as for me. So I can recall the magic moments you and I shared together while you were the little chipmunk.

Love,

Dad
