Big P & Papa K Visit

Hi everybody!  This is my grandma, The Big P.  She came out here with my grandpa, Papa K, when I was born.  Unfortunately I had a few issues when I was born.  At birth I had, what doctors called, a pneumothorax (tiny hole in the lung), which healed in 10 hours flat.  It basically caused labored breathing when I first came out of mommy.

Then I started having these things called Bradycardia, or bradycardic episodes.  Basically I would stop breathing because my throat hurt, so the doc finally put me on some medication and diagnosed me with "impressive" acid reflux.  I think impressive is a nice word for severe.  So, that is why St. Paul's Hospital kept me in the NICU for 10 days-to keep a very close eye on me.  I had to make it 5 days in a row with no "Brady" episodes in order to be released, so I finally did it.  My parents were so happy!

My mom was a mess, during that time...no shocker there.  My dad was really upset too, but he tried to keep up a good face for my mom, since she was so down.  She told me that she cried every single day, especially right when she woke up in the mornings and realized I wasn't there.  She and my dad came to visit me, and bring me my food, 2 or 3 times a day.  They were so tired, but they missed me so much they did it anyway.  Everyone came and visited too, so it was really nice and helped my parents pass the time.

Well, we made it through, obviously, and I was finally released on Thursday, July 28, 2011.  My sweet Big P had to come back for a make-up visit, and this weekend was just that.  We had so much fun Big P and Papa K.  Thank you so much for coming to see me again.  I hope I didn't disappoint.  ;)
