From Mommy

HI Poodle,

It's your mother.  I saw that your dad made an entry, and I wanted to make one, myself.  He can be so touching, like that, and so charming.  Clearly it worked on me.  I am sitting here thinking how lucky I am to be your mother, and the wife of the coolest guy around.

I'm on the shift now...your dad just left for work, so I came home early from my job, at WFAA-TV, to take over, so dad can bring home the bacon.  That means make some money!  ;)   Anyhow, you are lying here, on your little boppy, stretched over it with your arms wide open, to your sides, per usual, sleeping like a champ.  You are the most amazing thing I've ever laid eyes on.  I'm not sure I'll ever get over that...

We realized after your rough day, earlier in the week, that you are teething.  Definitely looks like it hurts, so we've been really giving you our A game lately, rubbing your little gums w/ tiny pieces of ice and making your little paci's chilly in the fridge.  You seem to like it, so we're so happy it's giving you some relief.

I cannot tell a lie, you are quite difficult on both of us, some days.  Maybe I should use a different word, and say, challenging.  Haha.  The apple doesn't fall far, kiddo, and I am afraid you turned out just like your mumsy-very fiesty.  It's not a bad thing.  I just know that your dad and I will have our work cut out for us in not breaking your little spirit, but managing to nurture it into a positive direction.  I could go on and on, rambling about parenting, but why bore you?

I am very simply in love w/ you more than anything in the world, except your daddy. Watching you grow, every day, is the biggest treasure either one of us could ever have.  It's changed our lives.  I just know what a huge responsibility is before us, and we both only want the absolute best for you.

I must be crazy, I keep piering over the computer screen, even as a type, to make sure you are breathing.  You'd think I would stop worrying, but I don't believe that ever happens, once you find parenthood.  It's the happiest and the scariest thing me and your dad have ever done, and we'd do it 1 million-gazillion times over, to just have you here!

You are the light of both of our lives.  We live to make you happy and comfortable.  Once you get older, you'll understand what I'm talking about.  I just wanted you to know how MUCH we love you, because every day that passes, I look at your sweet little face, and thank God, over and over for you.

Yes, I'm a sapp.  Sue me.  Love you oodles and scoodles, Poodles!  ;)

p.s.  Mommy got to meet Anderson Cooper today.  He's a big news guy, and a silver fox, just like your dad.  I told him that your middle name was Anderson.  He asked if it was a family name, and I told him that the name came from your Meemaw.  "It's my grandmother's maiden name," I told him, and his response was, "That's amazing, Anderson is my grandmother's maiden name also."  Pretty cool, little man.  I thought it was kizmet!  Your Meems was probably looking down loving every minute of it.  I can hear her now, "Ooooohhh....he sounds really Naaace."

I love you, Benjamin Anderson Hall.  Sweet dreams my little rambucsious child.  You're a gift from God.

  1. Hi Benjamin - It's your funny little bird grandmother Big P! You are getting more handsome each day! We cannot wait to see you at Thanksgiving!
I have decided that it is paramount for you and your cousin Harrison to learn to sing all of Michael Jackson's songs! Big P loves the King Of Pop's music!
Now lets see if your mommy reads my comment!
Special K and I love you sooooo much!
