I was just born this morning. Monday, July 18th, 2011 at 10:11 a.m.
7 lbs 6 ounces & 20 inches long
Some of you may be asking, "why is his face so red and janked up? Well, insanely enough, and in true 'Stephens' fashion, inspight of the CSection my mom had, they still had to pull me out w/ forceps. Insane.....it was rather rocky there, for a few seconds, but my mom said the doctor told her I was very comfy, in my little place, inside mommy, and I didn't want to come out. After a few rocks back and forth, my mom said she heard what sounded like a water balloon being pulled out of her, and then they heard me slightly crying. They went into surgery at 9am, so it took a little while.
I didn't make a ton of noise, at first. The shock that doctor RosenRosen put me through, caused me to (get this), poo myself during delivery, and I breathed in it, a tiny bit, causing a tiny little hole in my lung. A pneumothorax, I think it's called. Anyhow, the rub is that my mom didn't get to see me for long, at all, before the whisked me away to the NICU.
I will say, she is one sassy lady, my mom. Even on the epidural, and all the drugs that they'd pumped her with, she still had a keen eye. I heard her asking my dad over and over and over and over (imagine my dad just staring at me, while the camera was literally on and still down by his thigh)...when they finally held me up, for her, and she said, "Babe, he's good looking.......Is he ripped?" And then, exit stage left. Off to the NICU.
So happy to finally be here w/ all of you. I arrived at 10:11 a.m. this morning. My nose and chin look just like mommy's, and my hair is strawberry'ish/light brown, just like my dad's. I have to say, I'm pretty darn cute, but what do I know? I'm only 6 hours old right now. ;P
One more thing to check out....my nose. It looks just like my mom's and she LOVES IT!
